MASINT,”or Measurement And Signatures INTelligence, encompasses a range of disciplines that exploit fundamental physical properties of objects of interest, the exploitation of which offers tremendous value for national security (military, homeland defense, and intelligence), as well as civil applications (such as agriculture, law enforcement). MASINT techniques include advanced radar, electrooptical/ infrared (including spectral), nuclear, geophysical (acoustic, seismic), and materials sensing, processing, and exploitation systems. These offer unique and critical information that is not otherwise available, or complements more broadly known techniques such as imaging (“pictures”), signals intelligence (“eavesdropping”), or human intelligence (“spies”).

The MASINT Association is a non-profit trade association formed in 1998 to support the development and use of MASINT technologies, and be the voice of industry in advancing MASINT approaches for national needs. Our membership consists of the leading industrial participants in the MASINT community.

The Association was organized in November 1998 and incorporated on January 8, 1999 in Washington DC as a nonprofit trade association (501-6c). The MASINT Association provides education, awareness and training, but does not lobby, and membership dues are 100%deductible as a business expense. (Legal Counsel: Mr. Charles A.
